What business lesson can you take from 17 year old Jordin Sparks? Well, there are many, but I’ll be brief and only touch on one BIG lesson.
Quick question: How many people do you think can sing as good or possibly even better than Jordin, no disrespect to her because Jordin Sparks is VERY talented, She really can SING! But I’d wager there is tons of talented folks out there like Jordin-Yet what seperates Jordin from them?
The answer? Accurate Action.
Jordin, set aside her fear of failure because her DREAM of ‘making it’ was bigger than the possibility of not making it!
So she put herself in the path of potential critcism & embarrassment, by getting on the ‘stage of life’ to show what she can do…She took accurate action to give herself a chance.
Zig Ziglar says “Life is not a spectator sport” in other words, you must participate and the best way to participate is by taking accurate action.
This is the exact same thing that MUST occur for you to be successful in any venture. You can bet your bottom dollar that there were people in Jordin’s life that probably told her she couldn’t, shouldn’t and wouldn’t make it…either to her face or like most cowards-behind her back. (Of course the same people are ‘front and center’ saying “I knew she’d make it” only after she wins…) Yet, inspite of Public Opinion (she’s the youngest winner ever so just by history the unspoken public opinion prior to her winning was that ’17 year’s old is too young’.) But Jordin Sparks was not concerned with public opinion…she knew that obstacles are what you see when you take your eye off the goal!
Most business people hide behind the WRONG actions of BUSY-NESS preparing to prepare what needs to be prepared because they want it to be done ‘just right’. Well, if you ask Jordin Sparks if she sang every song ‘the best’ she could possibly sing them she’d tell you “No”, but the point is…She was singing…NOT getting ready to sing!
Congratulations Jordin Sparks, You’re a winner for taking accurate action and the American Idol award is the logical result…Kudos!
So Lesson #1- Take Accurate Action to pursue your dream! (Operative key word=Action)

I’ve been wanting to leave a response on this blog for some time now…but after reading Dan Kennedy’s book on time managment, I knew that I no longer have an excuse!!!
One avenue that has really helped my productivity is the mastermind group headed by Thad. I can’t how many fresh ideas that I have walked away with from each meeting, all which I can honestly say have contributed to $$ in my business. I can truly say that it is worth every penny.
Marketing is the business I’m in, and real estate is the vehicle that is driven by marketing.
I can’t recommend Dan’s No BS Time Management book enough, it will revolutionize your life, and give you a new perspective on your business. My clients even appreciate it now, even though they bitched a little when I first changed my voicemail. When your clients know that you are busy, and they know you respect their time as well, and you let them know that you will return threir calls at a specified time, you can get a lot more accomplished.
How much is your time worth, any how? $10.00 per hour, $20.00 per hour, $100.00 per hour??? How about $12.00 per minute?!?! Once you figure out just how valuable your time is, you’ll stop wasting your minutes, and become more productive.
When and as I apply everything and every idea that i have garnered, written down and stored in my brain, look out!!!, you’ll be eating my dust.
