It Always Comes Down To This¦
Three words.
The meaning and significance is life changing.
One reminds you of the purpose behind The Revolution and
the other is what would have resulted if the Revolution failed.
One reminds you of the rewards.
The other reminds you of the consequences.
One requires the gumption to take charge, take a challenge,
create and fashion a future, be a leader, at the risk of failure, but
with the eye on winning and the other takes the path of least resistance
destined for mediocrity at best, following and accepting whatever
fate is doled out to them.
The VAST chasm between the words “in” and “dependence”
is a black hole of misery and suffering…this GAP
is the valley of the ‘coulda, woulda, shouldas.
The Good Ole Days¦
The span between “in and “dependence is the place where
Mr. and Mrs. Loyal T. Security was walking along the path called
‘The good ole days when suddenly without warning
this GAP appeared and Mr. and Mrs. Loyal T. Security fell
into the grand canyon-like hole…. never to be seen again.
To this very day, many people still are following this very same path,
calling out into the canyon thinking that they will find Mr. and Mrs. Loyal T. Security
Many have even thought they could hear them answer their calls, but they were all fooled by hearing their own echo. Yet, still, like lemmings going over the cliff, many still march along the path called ‘The good ole days somehow expecting that someway the results will be different.
Loyalty and Security can NOT be found
on the path called ‘The good ole days but
they can be found on the path of real Independence.
What path are you on?
Thad

Thad,
I always get a lot out of reading things on your site, AND your blog. Little things, like the topic here, are SO helpful to me at times to keep me focused. Thanks for keeping up the good work!

Wow, what a meeting. I’m still charged up!! Couldn’t hardly go asleep, and when I finally did, I only got a few hours, and back up again. There is so much that I can apply that Bret and Ethan shared, now it’s up to me to take action! Knowledge without application is just that — knowledge.
2008 is gearing up to be a fantastic year, and it’s up to me to make it even better!
Thad, keep ‘em coming, and I’ll see you at the top [when I get there]!!!
My site isn’t quite ready, but here it is: http://www.MortgageMortuary.com

Times are different. Everything is moving at a much faster pace. I know-my business is changing in directions I could not have seen just five years ago. Is this due to lack of foresight or inadequate planning?
No. Change is good. Ask anyone who trades stocks, bonds, commodities, futures or options. They would not have jobs (or clients (which are pretty much the same thing if you really want to go in to a deep think))if the market stayed the same every day.
I view change as opportunity. If someone is complaining, there must be an opportunity. Right now in my business (I own Delaware Insurance Advisors) the property and casualty insurance industry is in a cycle of declining prices for the consumer. What the means to my business is that I must work harder to just maintain the level we were at the year before.
No one wants to work 10% harder. I don’t. I work 10% smarter. Resources abound for the resourceful. This blog, the audio downloads available here and the wisdom of Thad Winston are here-and free to those who want to pay the price. It’s not expensive, but it involves both a commitment and a desire to learn.
What have I learned that I am applying? Very simple. I am communicating more often with my auto, home, life and business insurance clients. And, I am building deeper relationships with them.
The whiners are too busy whining to spot emerging opportunities. So what if we are in a recession? Who says you have to participate in it!?! Think about it. Then take positive action.
